Grasfever

Within few minutes I'm leaving for Graspop! (Belgium's biggest metal festival)
Yay!
I was finally allowed to go all three days. ^^ So over a few hours, I'll be standing in front of Arkona, Epica and many more. I've no idea how things will be going, since I know only very few people of the group with which I will sit together.

Nervousness...! ^^

(when I get back I'll write a decent blog and don't mind my spelling mistakes, but I don't have enough time to check everything)

Curiosity killed the Cat

Today my post is about one of my favourite drawers. Her artist's name is Kmye Chan (derived from Camille). You might not expect it with this nickname, but she's French and lives in Paris. She's still a student, but in her free time she is a freelance illustrator. I don't have the impression Kmye Chan is that known in Belgium but her work is regularly exhibited internationally.

(This picture is from my archive so I don't remember the source anymore.
It would represent Kmye Chan herself.)
Some examples of her recent work:

Mademoiselle Colombe

Octopus Girl

Metamorphosis

Incubation

Phases Oppositions

15 Sweet monster facts

I follow blogs for a few months right now. One of the returning subjects I always found interesting was the “15 facts” (a part of a photo challenge in which I won’t participate).

(crappy camera)

1. I’m a shyness. I used to think I’d grow out it, but it’s clear I didn’t.

2. I’m the most rational, irrational person you might ever come across with.

3. I love to experiment,^^
on the conditions I won’t get babies of it or won’t be permanently physically or psychologically damaged.

4. I adore reading, but I’ve sadly enough so little time for it.

5. My first book I picked when I was eight years old. It’s called “A vampire awakes” by R.L. Stine. That moment was the beginning of The Madness. I read through my whole childhood, mostly scary tales.

6. For an unknown reason (some) people tend to believe I’m a very calm person.

7. Recently I started sewing. I don’t create anything (yet?), but currently I restore a skirt. It’s awesome, I wanted one like this for years! Because its second-hand I didn’t pay that much. I’ve already planned other little sewing projects for when it’s finished. Somewhere in the future I’ll blog about my sewing machine adventures.

8. I’m known for living in my own little world. Reality is quite scary if you’re only a little girl.

9. Scary or not, I’m curious about what’s going on in the outer world. I read everything I can lay my hands on, the online paper and blogs being my most current victims.

10. I wonder about what keeps people busy, though I’m easily too intimidated to ask. I might not tell that much by myself, but I listen carefully to others.

11. About a year ago I realised I almost finished all the language classes I’ll probably have in my life. This felt quite oppressive and from then on I focused even more than before on my English. I look forward to my holiday in the U.K.! (and secretly I hope I can ever take Spanish classes in the far future)

12. If I don’t like something I won’t pretend I do, whether it’s a new sweater or someones behaviour. I just likely won’t tell until my opinion is asked.

13. A new environment and unknown people make me extremely nervous.

14. I’m very fond of music. Sadly I can’t play anything by myself because I think lessons would absorb to much time I need for other things and I don’t own the money to pay everything by myself (I’m to proud to ask the parents, which wouldn’t appreciate a noisy hobby by the way). Generally I prefer metal and other alternative music, but sometimes I like to switch for a few weeks to pop and other styles.

15. I named my blog “I love my monsters” after the song by The Voronas.
Why monsters? Because they are and always have been everywhere in my life, some being sweeter than others.

The experimenting kind

Hi, I’m Gwen. I started this blog in the first place to practice my English. Also time slipped through my hands the past years so I thought it would be nice to save at least some memories. I’ll turn nineteen soon, how insane is that...?! The blog will be accessible for everyone, but keep in mind that (for now?) it’s actually not written for an audience. I never blogged before so I don’t know yet how things will evolve.

Greetings,
Gwen

PS: feel free to comment my writing errors. ^^
